concept
I create etchings that express contemporary issues through
the city and my emotions in an abstract way.
The works of the city depict the stifling atmosphere of today's information-rich society,
the beauty of the city, which can be seen at a moment's notice,
and the ever-changing expressions of the city.
The emotional works are based on accidental shapes,
and I try to express my emotions by changing colors and printing in layers.
For me, creating this kind of work is a record of contemporary society and a record of my emotions.
コンセプト
私は、現代が抱えている問題を”街"を通して表現する作品と、
自分の中で渦まく感情を抽象的に捉える作品の2つを軸に、銅版画を制作をしている。
"街"の作品では、情報が溢れすぎている現代社会の息苦しさや、ふとした時に魅せる街の美しさ、
刻々と表情を変えていく"街"に惹かれ、”街"の作品を描いている。
”Girl 9.1”という作品では、9月1日は若者の自殺者が最も多い日だというニュースを見て、
その事実を間接的に表現するために、画面全体を街で埋め尽くし、
とあるビルの屋上から少女が命を落とす瞬間を描いた。
その少女は2mmほどの小ささなので、一見するとわからない。
それは日々塗り替えられ、忘れられていく事件を表現した。
このように、社会問題を街の絵に落とし込みながら制作をしている。
"感情" の作品は、マジックインキによる腐蝕によって偶然出来た版を基に制作している。
その版のまま刷ると、とても繊細で、薄く、ぼんやりとしたかたちなのだが、
色を変えながら、同じ紙に３、４回ほど刷っていくと、インクのマチエール、色の重なり、線のブレによって、
怒りの感情や、感傷的な感情など、様々な自分の感情が絵に表れてくる。
抽象的で繊細な表現だからこそ、自分の中で渦まく感情を作品にできている。
私にとってこのような作品を制作するということは、現代社会の記録であり、自分の感情の記録である。
